Stuart Zender (SZ) is an eclectic musician whose style is best described as a funk/hip-hop/jazz/Latin fusion – a bit of Bootsy Collins and Chic tossed in with some Miles Davis and Dead Kennedys for good measure. Having earned his gig legs playing in and around Elephant and Castle in the late 80s-early 90s, Zender then ran off with the Archaos Circus as a member of the production crew. It was while working with Archaos and their blend of anarchic, chaotic, punk art that Zender began to open up creatively. He then went on to play bass with the band Jamiroquai on their first three albums (Emergency on Planet Earth, The Return of the Space Cowboy, and Travelling without Moving). Zender’s career spans nearly three decades of working with artists such as Adele, Amy Winehouse, Stevie Wonder, Lauryn Hill, Gorillaz, Don-E, D’Angelo, Omar, and Mark Ronson.
